1. Scope and Field of Application
1.1
This Standard deals with the external coating of ductile iron pipe at the factory by zinc-coating.
1.2
This Standard includes specifications for the zinc-coating, application requirements, and coating inspection. Also included are requirements for the finishing layer applied to the zinc- coated surface.
1.3
Pipe to be coated shall comply with one of the following:
ANSI/AWWA C151/A21.51, 1986 Ductile-iron pipe, centrifugally cast in metal molds or sand- lined molds for water or other liquids.
ISO 2531, 1986 Ductile iron pipes, fittings and accessories for pressure pipe-lines.
